Estrone

Estrone is a sex hormone.

Chemical Formula: C₁₈H₂₂O₂

Layman's explanation: Estrone is a sex hormone with the same activity as estradiol, but with less potency. The difference in activity is due to the substitution of one of the hydroxy groups with a keto group. This hormone is primarily used to treat estrogen deficiency.
