Layman's explanation: Desoxymethasone is a member of a class of compounds called corticosteroids. In general, corticosteroids are used to treat itching, swelling, redness, and allergies. Other nontraditional uses of corticosteroids are in immune suppression for organ transplant and cancer treatment in conjunction with chemotherapeutics.
