Isobutane

Isobutane is a relatively stable, low molecular weight alkane.

Layman's explanation: Isobutane is a colorless, odorless flammable gas that is relatively stable and inert to most chemical reagents. It has been used in aerosol propellants, aviation fluid additives, and industrial as well as household fuels. This compound occurs in small amounts in natural gas and in petroleum crude oil. It has also been measured in diesel exhaust and cigarette smoke.
