Hydrazine is a strong reducing agent.

Layman's explanation: Hydrazine is a clear hygroscopic liquid that is toxic and flammable. This chemical was once used as a missile fuel but eventually was replaced by UDMH. Current applications of hydrazine include its use in preventing corrosion by removing oxygen from boiler water; as a building block for agricultural chemicals; and as a monopropellant for satellite station motors.
