Layman's explanation: Arginine is an amino acid that plays an important role in cell division, the healing of wounds, removing ammonia from the body, immune function, and the release of hormones. It can be found in many foods such as meat, poultry, dairy products, and fish. The body also uses arginine to produce nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels. Because of this researchers believe that it may be linked to treating congestive failure, and impotence, which may be caused by limited blood flow.
