Diketene

Acetyl ketene freezes at 20 degrees F.

Chemical Formula: C4H4O2
Other names: 3-Buteno-b-lactone
Layman's explanation: Acetyl ketene is a clear and colorless liquid with a pungent odor. Heat is released upon the reaction of water and acetyl ketene. Vapors of acetyl ketene are heavier than air and will collect in low areas, which is dangerous because the compound is very flammable.
Keywords: flammable, pungent odor
