Hydrogen BromideHydrogen Bromide is a component of volcano gas.
Chemical Formula:
HBr
Layman's explanation:
Hydrogen Bromide is a colorless, corrosive, irritating, nonflammable, toxic gas with a suffocating odor. It is shipped as a liquefied gas under its own vapor pressure and used in chemical reactions, most often in pharmaceutical applications. It is also used in the semiconductor industry in combination with hydrogen chloride and chlorine for plasma etching of polysilicon. The selectivity and etch rate of HBr is strongly dependant upon the gas purity and the consistency of that purity.
