Glycine

Glycine is a non-essential amino acid that helps to convert potential toxic substances into harmless forms.

Chemical Formula: C2H5NO2
Other names: Amino-acetic acid
Layman's explanation: Glycine aids in the activity of neurotransmitters and is involved in memory and cognition. Glycine can be found in high protein foods such as meat, beans, fish and dairy products. Increasing the amount of glycine in the body can help control blood sugar levels, and possibly decrease the symptoms of schizophrenia.
